From Shopper and Reseller to Minimalist

People Matter Things Don't.....

This is something I often I have to remind myself.

As a mother of 3, getting out of debt from living on one income (thank you Jesus this is no longer a concern!!) I pride in taking great care of the things I have. I buy nice things. I buy things on sale. I buy my children the things I wanted as a child. I buy my children things I feel they need. I want things to last. And with that said I put too much value in things. I have allowed things to stress me. I have gotten overwhelmed with clutter. I see value in everything, this is a great thing and a terrible thing. Because I have the mind set that everything can be repurposed or resold. For this reason only, I struggle with parting with things unless it is of course thought out.

As a Professional Organizer the things I have get put away carefully, in a organized manner, allowing me to easily access them when the need arises. This takes times, time away from baking with my children, playing with my children, reading to my children, taking time for self care, dating and spending time with my husband, and watering the seeds of friendships and business relationships.

I have decided to start looking into and reading about minimalism. The concept of simplicity has always appealed to my hippie spirit. I vowed to reduce waste, as well as chemical and toxic products after becoming a mother.

I incorporate simplicity a lot in our lives already; homeschooling, essential oil usage, sewing for repurpose, recycling, buying second hand, and the list goes on.

Now I am refocusing and expanding on minimalism.

I would love to hear from those out there who have been on the journey of mindful purchase making as well as clutter and excessiveness eliminating.

In the meantime here's a few books from my favorite place Amazon I'm enjoying whilst I journey on.
