I’m talking 80 hours a week work week (especially in the beginning), I’m talking social life- what social life? Unless you count networking events, which you better master the art of mingling in a room full of strangers and remembering names, listening to conversations, engaging and taking mental notes. I’m talking about investing more money and time than you’d care to admit and learning A LOT of mistakes, and living, embracing and owning ALL the growing pains.
I’m here to tell you entrepreneurship isn’t easy! But neither is selling your soul for a paycheck that probably will never be appropriate to your true value.
If you’re serious about entrepreneurship then trade your time for knowledge, skills, and gain the expertise you’ll NEED to run a successful business. DO NOT trade your time for dollars. Because once you’re dependent upon someone else and coin inside of wealth it will be SO hard to break out! If trading your time for knowledge isn’t an option right now. Worry NOT- I offer business coaching- I will walk you through the process and eliminate some of the time investment. You can book your coaching HERE.
Here are some skills that will help you as you begin your journey.
1. Learn how to do as much as possible in the beginning. Unless you have investors you don’t want to go broke hiring out EVERYTHING. Building a basic website on platforms such as Squarespace is easy and affordable.
2. Be prepared to WORK! Work. Work. Work. Do the work to grow your knowledge. Your business. Your Brand. Your Following. Your Reputation. Your Wealth.
3. Know Marketing. Many times businesses daily because- well, they quit. Lol. But no seriously they get discouraged by not making money, and they aren’t making money because they have no clients. And they have no clients because people don’t know they exist. If you build it they will not come. They will ONLY come if you tell them you are there. And they need to come. Know who “they” are. Who is your client? Know how to reach them. And know that Marketing is a MUST in order for your business to thrive. Need help understanding who your client is? Or how to figure out what is the best way to Market or promote your business? You know I own a Marketing Firm right? Check out some information HERE.
