Once I became a mother I knew I never wanted to leave my children again. I had the worse separation anxiety when I had my now 8 year old that I knew I needed to find another way to bring in money for our family. As a result I turned to Network Marketing. Sold on the dream of entrepreneurship without the overhead expenses I was excited to begin!
I soon learned I would be (slowly but surely) investing a lot of money in my business, like ANY business, yes. But this was hard for me, there were times I would have to choose between activities for children or "my products/inventory", this made me uneasy.
There was also a lot of time commitment, time commitment during my children's precious years of needing ME, during bedtime, or nap time, during hours I wasn't quiet willing to give up. Feeling stressed and rushed to hurry through enjoyable moments to make a phone call, or meeting. I would find myself getting short, and frustrated with my children who only wanted my attention, for the sake for trying to "building a business".
I wasn't comfortable convincing friends and family to spend money when I KNEW they weren't in the place to, it reminded me of a car salesman mentality, and it made me not feel good.
I do believe there are markets and people for Network Marketing, but I do feel majority of the (especially) moms entering this industries with big hopes and dreams need to explore other options and think outside the box.
For instance I have found great success AND enjoyment in reselling. With sites like EBay, Amazon, ThredUp, Craigslists, and many more there's money to be made, and fun to be had while doing it. I seen great profit in reselling with less hours spent then with any Network Marketing Company I have ever been involved with.
The same goals you have with Network Marketing can be attained in just about anything.
